On the sidelines of the Africa Political Outlook Summit, an exchange with Ambassador Bitange Ndemo of Kenya revealed the breadth of his transformative vision
for the continent. This strategic meeting enabled us to delve deeper into his philosophy of African technological development and his outlook
on the continent's digital autonomy.
During Panel 6 of the Summit dedicated to AI and digital, Ambassador Ndemo delivered a message that shakes up preconceived ideas about technological Africa.
The Ambassador challenged the vision of a technologically backward Africa, citing the successes of South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Rwanda. These countries are already deploying artificial intelligence in healthcare, agriculture, education and financial services, proving that the continent is not lagging behind, but in the midst of a digital transformation.
His most powerful statement sounds like a manifesto: "The era of aid is over. We need to start thinking differently as Africa." This radical vision calls on the continent to mobilize its internal resources and diaspora rather than wait for external funding.
Ambassador Ndemo positions Africa not as a passive beneficiary, but as a strategic business partner for Europe. With its abundant energy and water resources, the continent has what it takes to become a central player in the global digital revolution.
